Not just Tesla — we assist many EVs
Trustee's mobile charging is Level 2 AC, which works with most electric vehicles that have a standard AC charging port — some need an adapter. The makes below are examples of vehicles we're asked about, not a guarantee for every model or year.
- Tesla (Model 3, Y, S, X)
- Kia (EV6, EV9, Niro EV)
- Hyundai (Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6, Kona Electric)
- Chevrolet (Bolt EV, Equinox EV)
- Ford Mustang Mach-E
- Rivian (R1T, R1S)
- Lucid Air
- BMW (i3, i4)
- Mercedes-Benz EQ
- Audi e-tron
- Volkswagen ID.4
- Volvo / Polestar
- Honda Prologue
- Nissan (Leaf, Ariya)
- Porsche Taycan
- Cadillac Lyriq
- GMC Hummer EV
- Toyota bZ4X
- Ports: J1772, the AC part of CCS1, and NACS (Tesla-style) with the right adapter.
- DC fast charging is only available through a separate partner, if available.
- If the car won't wake up, the 12V/16V battery may need help first.
- No guaranteed range or kWh — the goal is enough energy to reach a charger.
What do I do if my electric vehicle runs out of battery in Atlanta?
Stop somewhere safe, note exactly where you are, and call 478-202-3221. Mobile EV charging exists for one specific problem: the vehicle has too little energy left to reach a charger, and moving it to a charger is either impossible or expensive.
A mobile charge is not a full recharge. The goal is to put enough usable range into the pack that you can drive to a real charging station under your own power, instead of paying for transport.
Roadside situations where mobile EV charging makes sense
- The vehicle has reached 0% and will not move
- The remaining range is not enough to reach the nearest working charger
- The vehicle is stranded on a level of a parking garage where no charger exists
- The car is parked at an apartment complex with no charging on site
- The EV died at work, at a hotel, or at an airport-area parking facility
- The nearest public charger is broken, offline, or every stall is occupied
- Driving to a charger would risk complete depletion partway there
Electric vehicles commonly serviced
Mobile charging depends on the vehicle's charge port, its charging electronics and its current state. Compatibility is confirmed on the phone before dispatch — we do not claim universal compatibility with every electric vehicle on the road.

Not every dead EV is the same problem
"My EV won't go" describes several very different faults, and only one of them is solved by adding energy.
- Depleted traction battery — the high-voltage pack is empty. This is what mobile charging is for.
- Low-voltage (12V) battery failure — the pack may hold charge, but the car cannot wake up, unlock, shift or open the charge port. Adding energy to the traction battery does not fix this.
- Vehicle asleep or unresponsive — some EVs need a specific wake sequence before they accept a charge.
- Vehicle refuses the charge — a fault code, thermal condition or charge-port problem can stop a charging session from starting.
- Mechanical or electrical fault — a failure in the drive unit, contactor, wiring or charging hardware. Mobile charging cannot correct this.
Mobile EV charging is not a repair service
We can add energy to a vehicle that is able to accept it. We cannot guarantee a specific percentage or a specific number of miles of range, and we cannot guarantee that charging will resolve an underlying vehicle malfunction. If the vehicle will not accept a charge, the honest outcome is that it needs a service center.
Charging speed at the roadside also depends on the equipment, the vehicle's onboard charger and its battery state — a roadside charge is not a DC fast-charging session.
What to tell us when you call
- Year, make and model of the EV
- Current state of charge, if the screen still shows it
- Whether the vehicle powers up, unlocks and shifts normally
- Whether the charge port opens
- Exactly where the vehicle is parked — including garage level and nearest entrance
- Whether the vehicle can be reached by a service vehicle

Frequently asked questions
Do you only charge Teslas?
No. Trustee provides mobile EV charging for Tesla and many other compatible electric vehicles, including BMW, Kia, Hyundai, Chevrolet, Ford and more. The photos on this page include non-Tesla jobs. Call 478-202-3221 with your year, make and model so we can confirm compatibility before dispatch.
Which EV brands can Trustee charge?
Most electric vehicles with a standard AC charging port can be charged with our Level 2 equipment, some with an adapter. The brands listed on this page are examples, not a guarantee for every model or year. We confirm your specific vehicle and its charge port on the phone before anyone is dispatched.
Do you support J1772, CCS and NACS (Tesla) ports?
Our mobile charging is Level 2 AC. It works through the AC part of the port: J1772, the top of a CCS1 port, or a NACS (Tesla-style) port, with the right adapter where needed. A plug that only accepts DC fast charging can't use Level 2 AC. DC fast charging is only available through a separate partner, if one is available.
Can you charge my EV at 0% if it won't wake up?
Often an EV at 0% can still accept a Level 2 charge. But if the car won't unlock, light up the dash or open the charge port, the small 12V (or 16V) battery may be dead. That has to be fixed first with low-voltage battery support, a separate service. Range added is never guaranteed.
Do you provide mobile EV charging in Atlanta?
Yes. Trustee Roadside Assistance provides mobile EV charging throughout Atlanta and Metro Atlanta for accessible electric vehicles that are able to accept a charge. Call 478-202-3221.
Can you charge an EV inside a parking garage?
Often yes, when the service vehicle and equipment can physically reach the level the car is parked on, and the property allows the work. Tell us the garage level and clearance height when you call.
How much range can mobile charging provide?
We do not guarantee a specific percentage or mileage. The amount of usable range depends on the vehicle, its onboard charging system, its battery condition, temperature and how long the vehicle can safely remain on scene. The goal is enough energy to reach a charging station.
Can you jumpstart an electric vehicle?
An EV's 12V/low-voltage system can sometimes be assisted, depending on the vehicle's design and access. That is a different service from charging the high-voltage traction battery. See our EV low-voltage battery page.
How much does mobile EV charging cost in Atlanta?
Pricing varies based on service type, distance, vehicle, location, accessibility and service conditions. Call 478-202-3221 for a current quote.
What is the free tire check, and who gets it?
With a completed paid Trustee roadside service only, the technician can take a quick visual look at your four mounted tires, check PSI and add air to the manufacturer's recommended pressure, where safe and accessible. There's no extra charge for it. It is not a standalone service, not a formal inspection, and doesn't include tire repair or replacement.
