How Roadside EV Charging Works: Step-by-Step Guide for Drivers

Published by Trustee Roadside Assistance

Short answer

You call with your vehicle and location, compatibility is confirmed, a technician comes to the car and provides an emergency Level 2 top-up, and you drive to a charging station to finish charging.

Step 1: Call

Call 478-202-3221 with your vehicle, remaining charge and exact location. You can share GPS location from this site if you choose. The online request form is not a dispatch confirmation — call for urgent help.

Step 2: Compatibility and quote

The connector and charging compatibility are confirmed, and you get a personalized quote.

Step 3: Technician arrives

Arrival time depends on technician location, traffic and call volume. The technician checks that the car wakes and the charge port opens.

Step 4: Emergency top-up

This is a controlled boost to reach a nearby station, not a full recharge.

Trustee provides mobile Level 2 AC charging for Tesla and many compatible EVs. It is not DC fast charging, and how much range a session adds depends on the vehicle, the time available and conditions — so compatibility and connector type are confirmed by phone before dispatch.

Step 5: Drive to a charger

Head to a working charging station and complete a full charge. If on-site charging is not practical, you will be told so you can arrange other options; Trustee does not provide conventional towing.
