EV Roadside Assistance: What Makes Mobile Charging Different
Published by Trustee Roadside Assistance
Short answer
Mobile charging is different because it fixes the actual problem when an EV is just out of energy: it brings power to the car. It works alongside other roadside services and is not a substitute for a shop when the car has a fault.
Why EVs need a different first response
Running out of battery can strand a driver in traffic or on a quiet road. Jumpstarts do not charge the traction battery, and towing is not always necessary for a healthy car.
Step by step
- Call with the vehicle, battery state and exact location
- Compatibility and connector are confirmed by phone
- A technician arrives with mobile charging equipment
- An emergency range top-up gets the car to a charger
Where it fits
Trustee provides mobile Level 2 AC charging for Tesla and many compatible EVs. It is not DC fast charging, and how much range a session adds depends on the vehicle, the time available and conditions — so compatibility and connector type are confirmed by phone before dispatch.
Trustee does not provide conventional towing. If charging will not help, you will be told so you can arrange transport.
